Official Lyrics
Sun went down
On Table Rock
You kicked your shoes off
On the dock
Ozark night
Summer heat
Moonlight dancing
At your feet
Water's still
Air is warm
Your hair falling
Across your arm
You take a sip
Give me that smile
Lord I could stay here
For a while
Butterscotch moonshine
Sweet and slow
Little bit of fire
When it goes down low
Moon on the water
Stars in your eyes
Warm summer wind
Under Ozark skies
Take your time
We got all night
Table Rock's glowing
In the pale moonlight
You lean a little closer
Everything feels right
Me and you
And Butterscotch tonight
Kimberling City
Settling down
Last few headlights
Leaving town
Cicadas singing
Pontoon sways
That kind of night
You wish would stay
One more pour
One more song
Neither one of us
Needs to hurry home
Black Sea Shines
In your hand
Barefoot summer
Toes in the sand
Butterscotch moonshine
Sweet and slow
Little bit of fire
When it goes down low
Moon on the water
Stars in your eyes
Warm summer wind
Under Ozark skies
Take your time
We got all night
Table Rock's glowing
In the pale moonlight
You lean a little closer
Everything feels right
Me and you
And Butterscotch tonight
Some nights
Don't need much
A little moonlight
A little touch
A slow song
Floating through the pines
And a little something sweet
From Black Sea Shines
No place to go
Nothing to prove
Just an Ozark moon
And me and you
Butterscotch moonshine
Sweet and slow
Little bit of fire
When it goes down low
Moon on the water
Stars in your eyes
Table Rock shining
Under Ozark skies
Come a little closer
Stay a little while
Let that moonlight
Catch your smile
Black Sea Shines
And the night feels right
Me and you
And Butterscotch tonight
Morning can wait
We got time
One last taste
One last smile
Table Rock moon
Ozark sky
And a little Butterscotch
From Black Sea Shines
Notes:
I originally wrote this as "Butterscotch Moonshine". It's my favorite of our shines. Before the actual name was put on the bottle, I wanted to call it Sweet Coochie. I still call it that. But in the bottle it was Christened Butterscotch Memories. "does it the taste remind you of those butterscotch hard candies that have the wrapper foil twisted on each side?"
So yeah. My favorite moonshine from Black Sea Shines of the Ozarks. The song really hits the feeling of relaxation and sweetness. The song gave me the opportunity to dream about being with a beautiful woman on a summer night in Missouri - instead of the shitty apartment i had been living in (in Saudi) when I actually wrote these lyrics. Fun story.
Aha. I named it Missouri Moonshine just to give a Shout OUT to the world about the beautiful state of Missouri. The home of our Butterscotch Moonshine. Missouri Moonshine. Awesome.
Sweet Coochie! Hee hee. I still unofficially call it that.
