About Black Sea Shines
Black Sea Shines is a Missouri distillery rooted in the Ozarks, built on craftsmanship, character, and a stubborn commitment to doing things the right way. We make spirits with a sense of place and a story worth sharing.
Our story began with a simple idea: create spirits that reflect the grit, pride, and personality of the Ozarks. What started as a vision became a working distillery shaped by long hours, real people, and a belief that quality still matters.
At Black Sea Shines, we care about what goes into the bottle and what people remember when they visit. That means honest craftsmanship, a welcoming experience, and a brand that feels as local and grounded as the region that built it.
Whether you find us through a bottle, a tasting, an event, or a conversation with David, this place is meant to feel personal. We are here to make good spirits and give people a reason to come back.

The People Behind the Whiskey

David Haigler
Founder
The one who started it and still shows up to do the work. David built Black Sea Shines with a hands-on approach, a stubborn standard for quality, and a belief that people can taste the difference when something’s done right.

Roseanna Haigler
Owner & Merchandising
Keeps the brand looking right and the experience feeling complete. Roseanna helps shape what people see, take home, and remember.

Gregory Lemoine
Operations & Tech
Keeps things running, fixed, and moving forward. If it breaks, Greg’s already working on it.

Branden Prewitt
Distillery Operations
Part of the next generation keeping things moving. Shows up, does the work, and keeps the standard where it needs to be.

Lowell Beushausen “JR”
Financial
Handles the money side so the rest of us can focus on making good spirits. JR’s been here from the start and keeps things running the way they should.
Built With People, Not Just Barrels
Black Sea Shines didn’t grow on its own. It’s been shaped by the people who showed up, supported us, and stuck around. From early days to where we are now, this place has always been bigger than just the bottle.
What It Feels Like Here
